I am really feeling fortunate to have Disco with me. I was most interested in him for his female relatives’ milk components, but I have been so happy to discover that he has such great conformation. I am super impressed by his width at such a young age, which is no surprise since his dam scored 35 in rump width at just 2 years old. I am really feeling like he is the full package. I love his width, his strong straight legs and upright pasterns, his back, his open ribbing, his shoulders, and his blending throughout. He is a beautiful buck out of an awesome dam.

DAM’S GENETICS: Dam Apricot is a daughter of SG Sugar Moon NS Alejandro, who is well recognized for his impact on the breed. She is a 4x RCH, 2xGCH, 2xBOB, 2xBUOB, and has 2 championship legs. In addition, she was the 2nd place 2 year-old, with 1st place udder, 2019 ADGA National Show AND has been ELITE for FIVE consecutive years! She was one of only three Nigerians asked to milk out for best udder in show, losing only to the National and Reserve National Champions. She is also a recipient of the 2018 and 2019 Gold Juju ANDDA awards. She has milked well over 1000 pounds each lactation, even as a yearling. I’m also super impressed by her butterfat percentages. In addition, Grand Dam SG Sugar Moon RB Gianna 2*M is a full sister to SG Sugar Moon Rocky Dolby. She was elite (2019, 2020) top-ten breed leader (2018), milking in the 99th percentile with 1630 pounds on a 305 day lactation.

SIRE’S GENETICS: Rhythm’s dam, SG Better Wayz Harmony Carabear, EEEE92 ELITE for SIX consecutive years, holds the record for highest butterfat producer of all time. On her third lactation, she milked 1350 pounds, with 136 pounds of butterfat (10.1%). In fact, Rhythm has quite a few female relatives sitting on the top 10 list for butterfat. He is a half-sibling linebreeding on SG Elite Old Mountain Farm Elton Jay ++*B. Elton Jay’s dam holds the highest PTA (predicted transmitting ability) and PTI (production type index) for the entire breed. (PTA Milk +349, PTI1: 581, PTI2: 357). In addition, both of Rhythm’s grand-dams have LA scores of 91!

This boy is the cream of the crop, no pun intended. It doesn’t get much better than this. I consider Disco my “milk with structure” buck, meaning I brought him in for the awesome consistency in his pedigree for high butterfat and milk production, but he has great structure to boot!
